The story of
THE DICTIONARY HOSTEL
Avid travellers, Eliska Finlay and her husband, wanted to create a unique and upmarket hostel in one of London's trendiest areas, Shoreditch. For 10 years, the couple worked in hostels at London's West End, but aimed to create a hostel to provide an experience that backpackers would always remember.
The Dictionary Hostel's team is always looking for ways to improve its service. When they discovered the advantages of GuestU's mobile solution they knew that an app would suit their brand and audience.
GuestU's app as a mobile guide
Shoreditch is one of most vibrant artistic areas in London; around almost every corner you'll find amazing street art, bars, pubs and music venues which create a lively nightlife.
With GuestU's mobile solution, Dictionary's guests are able to discover the Shoreditch area and London's neighbourhoods with no need to wait for a receptionist to be free to answer their questions. Also, they can learn more about the hostel's facilities through a customized app which features the look and feel of the brand.
The hostel's app not only suggests popular tourist stops, but also displays information about events that are going on in the city. The events list is easily managed through the user-friendly back office; tasks like adding or changing information can be performed in few minutes. Moreover, events which have passed the expiring date automatically drop off, reducing time spent managing the app.
Since it has a mobile app, the Dictionary Hostel has been able to reach out to a wider audience and generate very profitable word-of-mouth about the app and the Hostel's services, which creates amazing returns in terms of client loyalty and brand awareness.
